There is something magical that happens when the leaves start changing and the air starts getting cooler. For as long as I can remember I have always loved the autumn months. Growing up in Southern California, I never fully got to experience a real fall season because the majority of our year is spent with sunny days and palm trees. It wasn’t until my oldest sister moved to Washington State that I was finally able to soak in the true autumn bliss. The beauty that comes with the changing of trees is something I will never get tired of. This blog post today is dedicated to all of my favorite autumn things and the joy the season brings me. Grab a cup of hot apple cider and put on your fuzzy socks because I’m about to bring the epitome of an autumn aesthetic to a screen near you. Enjoy!

First things first I am going to highlight probably the most autumn thing ever and I definitely mentioned it already, but I still feel like I need to touch on it a little more… leaves changing! I am in awe of the way God created this world and the indescribable beauty that is around us. There is something so refreshing about walking around in nature with bright orange, yellow and red trees surrounding you. Autumn walks have definitely become one of my favorite things to do and I have so many fun memories of going on them with my sister while visiting her. Maybe it’s my Cali girl coming out, but strolling through the neighborhood and taking pictures of all the gorgeous trees is something you will definitely find me doing.

Autumn rain is the next thing I want to talk about because it by far one of the most cozy things ever. Rain in general is cozy, but AUTUMN rain is on a whole other level. Maybe it’s my love of trees, but I will never get sick of sitting inside all warm, under a blanket while watching the rain fall outside through the trees. Yes please!!
Oversized comfy sweaters/flannels are another aspect of fall that I love with my whole heart and I am not lying when I say I have SO many of them. There is nothing better than throwing on a big sweater with some leggings and taking on the world!

Another clothing item I adore during autumn are beanies! Not only are they just super cute in general, but you can definitely just throw one on without having to really do your hair at all and It’s a win win. Beanies have for sure saved me from a greasy hair disaster day many a time!

One of my favorite fall activities that I’ve done in my life is apple picking! I”m sure it’s a very common thing to do if you live in a place that has real seasons, but for me, apple picking in California was never something I did growing up. On one of my trips visiting my sister, we went to this beautiful place called Green Bluff to pick apples. They had tractor rides, pumpkins patches and hard cider which made it feel super festive. We ended up picking a ton of different types of apples and used them in a delicious apple crisp. It was so much fun and I hope I’m able to do it again soon.

The last autumn favorite I want to talk about is Thanksgiving! I seriously love being able to spend the day with family, eating way more food than I ever should in one sitting. It’s such a special holiday and one I look forward to every year!

I posted a vlog a few years back from one of my autumn trips to visit my sister and it captures so much beauty and me being in awe of a PNW fall season. Check it out!
